A Warm Welcome!

As you arrive, mind your head—Church Cottage has a rather low doorway!
Step inside and you’ll find yourself in the heart of the home: a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, perfect for cooking, chatting, and enjoying time together. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is here, including a separate pantry and a handy cupboard stocked with everyday essentials. And don’t forget to peek at the floor—you might just spot a gravestone or two set into the old quarry tiles, adding a unique touch of history.

From the kitchen, the original tiled floor leads into the snug living room with its open fire and comfy Joules sofa. Whether you’re curling up with a book, catching up on TV, or simply watching the peaceful churchyard from the window seat, it’s a perfect place to unwind. And yes, we’ve got superfast WiFi if you like to browse.

Back in the kitchen, a narrow, steep staircase leads up to the bedrooms and bathroom. It's small, and it's winding, but here's the thing. This cottage used to be divided into two cottages, making it even smaller!

The master bedroom is spacious and inviting, featuring a super king bed with a sumptuous mattress to ensure a restful night’s sleep. Look up and you’ll spot ancient rafters peeking through the paint—just one of the many lovely period features. If you’re visiting on a Sunday morning, you might even wake to the sound of church bells ringing, best enjoyed with a cup of tea in bed.

The second bedroom offers a cosy double bed and a charming low window with peaceful views across the churchyard.

The bathroom may be compact, but it’s the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing soak in the bathtub. While there’s no walk-in shower, the handheld shower over the bath works well for freshening up.

We truly hope you enjoy your stay at Church Cottage, and that its warmth, history, and charm help make your visit a special one.
